Tankless Water Heater vs. Traditional Water Heater

A tankless water heater provides a continuous supply of hot water from an energy-efficient and space-saving design. It is about the size of a medicine cabinet. Rheem has a wide variety of solutions for tankless water heating needs.

Benefits of a tankless water heater

A typical tankless water heater measures less than 15" wide by just 2 feet high. It can be mounted on an interior or exterior wall. A typical tank water heater takes up about 9 square feet.
A tankless water heater weighs as little as 50 pounds. A typical gas water heater weighs 165 pounds or more
A Rheem tankless water heater will consume about 20-25% less in fuel costs than a typical gas fired tank type water heater.
Tankless water heaters only heat the amount of hot water necessary to meet the demand. A tank type water heater heats the ENTIRE contents of the storage tank to meet large OR small demands.
The national life expectancy for tankless water heaters is 20 years. For tank type water heaters, the expectancy is 12 years.
