A kitchen faucet is a workhorse. It's used multiple times a day for meal prep, cleaning and hand washing. For some kitchens, a faucet is merely a functional fixture. For other kitchens, it can be the focal point of the room. However you view your kitchen faucet, eventually it will need to be replaced.
Kitchen faucet types
If your faucet is leaking, cracked and/or you've already spent money on a couple of repairs, it's cost-effective to replace it. There are so many choices that it can be overwhelming. Before you take a look online or in a store, here are some things to think about:- Finish - what is the finish of your sink and the hardware on your cabinets? Chrome, brushed nickel, stainless steel?
- Type - if you cook at home a lot, you'll find a "high-arc" faucet helpful. It will make washing pots much easier.
- Features - a "touch-free" faucet is great for the young and elderly in your family. Also, it can reduce the spread of food-borne illnesses, such as E. coli.
- Size - take a look at the faucet you have now. Is it considered a "single-hole"? Is it 4" or 6"? Single-lever or two-handle? When looking for a replacement, it's important to make sure the new one will fit properly.
Faucet installation in Mansfield CT
When a customer needs a new fixture, we get a call. Sometimes, there is confusion over all the different options and a professional opinion is needed. Other times, there's a time constraint that doesn't allow a customer to research all the choices. That's when we make a service call to take all the measurements, streamline the selection process and order the correct faucet. If it's a common faucet, we can often install the replacement the same day. Otherwise, we'll schedule another visit that's convenient for our customer. The benefit of ordering directly through us is that we can guarantee that the fixture is quality and we have access to the manufacturer. We also get a call when a customer has already purchased the desired faucet, but needs professional installation. Recently, we installed a customer-supplied faucet in Mansfield CT. With a customer-supplied faucet, we can't guarantee that the parts are quality or that everything that's needed is inside the box. It may require an additional visit. We're more than happy to install provided fixtures, but always give our customers the heads-up. We're aware that similar models are shelved at the box stores "for less." However, some of the internal parts may be plastic or otherwise lower quality.
